DILG - Camiguin Spearheads Pre-Disaster Training for Barangay Tanods

The Department of Interior and Local Government -Camiguin thru the able leadership of Director Nilo P. Castanares, in coordination of the Local Chief Executives of Camiguin, conducted a two-day Pre-disaster Training for Barangay Tanods in the five municipalities of the province.

The training, as part of the Barangay Newly Elected Officials (BNEO) Phase III Progarm of the DILG, aimed towards certain objectives: revisiting of tanod functions as peace keepers and force multipliers to deter man-made and natural calamitie, acquiring new skills in carrying out their mandates as barangay tanods.
The series of trainings ran from September to October of this year, which were conducted on-site. The pool of speakers included Director Castanares, PPDO Felicisimo Gomez, MLGOOs, Municipal Chiefs of Police and Fire Marshalls.

The provincewide activity was shouldered by the Provincial, Municipal and barangay governments headed by Governor JUrdin Jesus M. Romualdo, the Municipal Mayors and all Punong Barangays of the province, making it a truly remarkable undertaking for the good of all Camiguinons.
