Camiguin Polytechnic State College

Camiguin was part of Misamis Oriental from 1946 to 1958. Then in 1958, it became a sub-province and in 1968, a full-fledged province with Mambajao as its provincial capital.

In 1980, Camiguin School of Arts and Trade was established as a Secondary Trade School. Central Mindanao University and Mindanao Polytechnic State College also established Satellite Schools in the Province.

Seeing the need to establish a State College that would cater to the needs of the youth of the province, Congressman Pedro P. Romualdo authored Republic Act 7923 which was presented in congress on July 25, 1994.

On Febuary 24, 1995, by virtue of Republic Act 7923, the Mindanao Polytechnic State College-Camiguin Campus, Central Mindanao University-Catarman Campus and Camiguin School of Arts and Trades, were integrated into one State College, the Camiguin Polytechnic State College with its Main Campus located at Balbagon, Mambajao, Camiguin.

After a Brief transition period, CPSC officially opened its door to higher education in June 1996.

From then on, CPSC has been under the Leadership of the following Presidents:

2005-present Dr. Venus I. Lammawin

To date, CPSC strives to provide professional, technical and special instruction for special purposes and to promote research and extension services, advanced studies and progressive leadership in Agriculture, Forestry, Engineering, Arts and Sciences, and other relevant studies through quality instruction.
