Fatima College of Camiguin

Camiguin Institute was founded by the late Don Leon Borromeo in 1922. Government recognition and approval for operation of a complete Elementary and Secondary courses was received in 1927. When World War II broke out in 1941.

Father John Pollock, S.J. re-opened the school after the war through the help of Jesuit priests. The sisters of Religious of Virgin Mary (RVM) took charge in administering Camiguin Institute. Rev. Arthur F. Shea, S.J. changed the name of chool to FATIMA JUNIOR COLLEGE.

Government recognition for complete course was given by the Department of Education # 390 s. 1956. General Clerical Course in college got its recognition in May 26,1956.

In 1958, through the help of Irish missionary priest in the island, Religious Sisters of Mercy (RSM) changed the name of school into FATIMA COLLEGE OF CAMIGUIN for the identification with the registration to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) due to offering four year degree course.
